The Customer
Our Customer is the leading provider of software solutions that manage corporate real estate (CRE) assets. The company's property management solutions manage more than five billion square feet of space globally. Our Customers applications synchronize corporate real-estate process activities across an entire enterprise, enabling customers to make real-time , business-critical decisions.
Problem Statement
Our Customer wanted to beat the competition by providing its customers with a comprehensive web-based Corporate Real Estate Application with an aggressive time frame to market schedule.
The product design mandated a complex rules-based engine and a scalable architecture that allowed the product to be compatible with most commercial databases. It was also cross browser compatible. A limited budget and an aggressive time-to-market schedule added to our challenge of creating an efficient "Quality Assured" product that would be well received by the existing and potential customers of our customer.
Development Process and Result
It was proposed to architect a robust web-based application using J2EE architecture.
The project was broken into distinct functional areas. A technical design was built around each functional specification, a process that allowed multiple development groups to take part in an iterative development of each module assigned to them. Within a short time frame and well in line with the expectations of our customer, we were able to develop a fully functional prototype. The prototype was presented to the customer for review by its Quality Assurance and functional teams.
By the end of the fourth month, the development of first phase was complete, and our implementation engineers ensured seamless implementation of the application by closely working with the customer team for a successful demonstration to the Venture Capitalists community. Providing the customer with an efficient and cost effective product that was also well accepted by the VC community ensured that the entire development of the product was handed over to us.
Consistent and improved communication, together with a 24/7 sup-port towards the completion of the development of the product, resulted in delivery of an efficient, web-based enterprise application on time and within budget.
